Ioannis Krikidis
received the diploma in Computer Engineering & Informatics from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department (CEID) of the University of Patras, Greece, in 2000, and the M.Sc and Ph.D degrees from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST), Paris, France, in 2001 and 2005, respectively, all in electrical engineering.

He is currently an Associate Professor at Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Cyprus (ECE), Nicosia, Cyprus.
Dr. I. Krikidis is a Fellow of the IEEE. He was awarded a Consolidator grant by the European Research Council (ERC) in 2018.

From 2001 to 2002 he served as a Research Associate at the National Capodistrean University of Athens, Athens, Greece and from 2006 to 2007 he worked, as a Post-Doctoral researcher, with ENST, Paris, France. From 2007 to 2010, he was a Research Fellow in the School of Engineering and Electronics at the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, UK. From 2010 to 2012, he was a visiting Assistant Professor with ECE, University of Cyprus.

During summer of 2008 and spring of 2009, he was visiting researcher at the University of Notre Dame, IN, USA and the University of Maryland, USA, respectively. From July-December 2012, he was a Research Associate with Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust, University of Luxembourg. In July 2013, he was a NICT visiting research fellow at the Niigata University, Japan. In June 2015, he was a visiting Professor at Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon (INSA), Lyon, France.

He is currently serving as an Associate Editor for the
IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and the Wiley Transactions on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies. He is also a Guest Editor for EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking and IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Signal Processing- Special Issue on Exploiting interference towards Energy Efficient and Secure Wireless Communications. Dr. I. Krikidis is an Exemplary Reviewer of IEEE Communications Letters and IEEE Wireless Communications Letters for 2012. Dr. Ioannis Krikidis received the Research Award Young Researcher 2013 from Research Promotion Foundation. He was awarded the IEEE ComSoc Best Young Professional Academia Award 2016 [In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the academia in terms of innovative communications research and IEEE ComSoc services, especially in the area of wireless communications].
He has been recognized by Thomson Reuters as an
ISI Highly Cited Researcher 2017 & 2018. He also received the 2018 Best Paper Award from IEEE ComSoc Green Communications & Computing Technical Committee.
