Short bio

I am a Research Associate at the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence of the University of Cyprus. My research focuses on the modelling and system-wide solution of problems in complex and uncertain environments that require real-time and close to optimal decisions, by developing intelligent, optimisation, and machine learning techniques. My work is applied to critical infrastructure systems, such as intelligent transportation systems and communication systems.

In previous appointments, I was a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Cyprus, and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Computer Laboratory of the University of Cambridge. During these posts I pursued research in intelligent energy aware networks to achieve end-to-end energy consumption optimisation of networked ICT services, and taught several undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Computer Engineering.

I hold a Dipl-Ing in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Summa Cum Laude) from the National Technical University of Athens, an MSc in Communications and Signal Processing (Distinction) and a PhD in Intelligent Systems and Networks, both from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Imperial College London.

I am a Senior Member of the IEEE, and a member of the ACM and the Technical Chamber of Cyprus. I am the recipient of the 2017 ‘Cyprus Young Researcher in Physical Sciences & Engineering’ Award, by the Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation.
