The Information and Decision Systems (IDS) research group concentrates on analyzing data and making informed decisions in large-scale, heterogeneous, uncertain, resource/time-constrained, dynamical, multi-agent systems. The objective is to develop customised, real-time, cooperative and distributed methodologies and tools, that enhance efficiency and deliver new capabilities in situational awareness and decision making. For the accomplishment of this objective, we draw inspiration from mathematical optimization, machine learning, statistical data processing and computational intelligence. The main application area of our research is critical infrastructure systems which relate to assets that are essential for the maintenance of vital societal functions. In the IDS group, we are particularly invested in the solution of challenging problems arising in intelligent transportation systems, future power systems (smart grid), wireless communications, and smart water networks.

Open Positions
I am constantly seeking for highly motivated PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to join my research group. If your interests include optimization, control, and machine learning with applications in critical infrastructure systems, please email me with your CV and cover letter.
