  • Assess acute and chronic impacts of selected APIs and photo-transformation products to a producer (algae), a consumer (cladoceran) and a decomposer (bacteria)

WP5: Ecotoxicity assessment of multi-component chemical mixtures to aquatic organisms

  • Assess possible additive, synergistic or antagonistic mode of action of selected APIs and photo-transformation products in multi-component mixtures using a selected microorganism

WP6: Mutagenicity assessment of multi-component chemical mixtures to human cells

  • Assess and quantify mutagenicity of single APIs, their photo-transformation products and multi-component APIs mixture to mammalian cells

WP7: Development of a novel screening assay for endocrine and cytotoxicity assessment to human cells

  • Develop a novel screening assay for simultaneously assessment of estrogenicity and cytotoxicity to human cells
  • Assess estrogenicity and cytotoxicity of multi-component APIs mixtures using a novel screening assay

WP8: Development of novel omics techniques to assess toxicity of multi-component chemical mixtures to humans

  • Develop a novel microarray-based method to assess the cellular processes affected by multi-component chemical mixtures to humans
  • Determine the effect that API mixtures have on gene expression profile of human cells
  • Identify the cellular processes affected by each API mixture
