Step2smart's pilot implementation in Kos was held on 15 April 2022, during which the developed software, and deployed digital
bus announcement and information signs were successfuly tested.






On 3/12/2020 and 4/12/2020 respectively, the 3rd Technical Meeting and the 3rd Consortium of the Step2Smart Action were hosted online, by the Municipality of Chania.
A video has been released, on the scope and implementation of the Step2Smart Action at the Municipality of Chania (Crete).
The video premiered at the Step2Smart 3rd Consortium Meeting held in Chania (3-4/12/2020).
In light of the Step2Smart 2nd consortium meeting in Kos, the local TV channel hosted interviews and a short
broadcast on the project, its targets, and expected outputs.
The Step2Smart 2nd consortium meeting, held in Kos (20-21/6/2019), gave consortium partners a chance to meet and discuss project progress to date, ongoing actions and future steps.




Step2Smart progress meeting(s) on data collection, transfer and utilization, held at the Munistry of Transport, Communications and Works (Nicosia).

A video trailer of the software being developed on traffic monitoring has been released, giving a
glimpse at the user interface and functionalities being developed. The software is a part of a
larger digital platform on transport analytics, environmental monitoring and air quality,
presented at the CirClE2019 + SMile2019 conference (Nicosia).
The International Conference
CirClE2019 "Challenges for the Islands in the era of the Circular Economy" + SMile 2019 “6th Sustainable Mobility and Intelligent Transport Conference”,
held in Nicosia, Cyprus, from 28-29 March 2019, was organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works of Cyprus under the auspices of DGENV and DGMOVE.
The conference's technical sessions were followed by a gala dinner for the conference participants.












On March 27th 2019, a Step2Smart progress meeting was held at the University of Cyprus (Nicosia).






A site inspection was held, to investigate selected sites and site conditions for the installation of air-quality sensors.




A coordination meeting was held (on Friday February 22, 2019) for the 1st conference for Step2Smart took place at the Department of
Public Works of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works.


On Friday, October 26, members of the Step2Smart Action Team visited the Lakatamia City Hall (Nicosia), informing the Municipality of the Step2Smart Action and discussing
how best to utilize the tasks and findings of the Action.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Symeon Christodoulou and Eleni Toxqui, and on behalf of the City Hall Mr. Polis Polydoridis (Municipal Engineer),
Stelios Vassilokostas (Officer), Marios Prodromos and Mrs. Athena Kyriakou (BSG of European / Secretary).
On Tuesday, October 23, 2018, Dr. Loukas Dimitriou (University of Cyprus) spoke on the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation
RIK1 TV channel ("First Update" show with Stavros Kyprianou and Stavriani Konstantinou) about the traffic situation in Cyprus
and the Step2Smart Action.
Data collection for the purposes of the 'Step2Smart' Action has begun, in order for the project consortium
to capture the current situation at the partners' areas of interest.



During the "5th European Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility" which was organized in Nicosia on 14-15 May,
a Step2Smart leaflet was distributed.

On Dec. 6, 2017, Step2Smart's 1st project consortium meeting was successfully held in Nicosia.
Further to general coordination actions, the meeting focused on: Techical issues, the project architecture and related deliverables,
the publicity strategy, and the project task per consortium partner.



On Oct. 20, 2017, the Step2Smart project was set in motion.
Step2Smart, a project partnered by organizations in Cyprus and Greece (Chania, Kos),
is a project funded under the Greece-Cyprus Cross-Border Cooperation Program,
has a duration of 32 months and a budget of about 2 million euro.
